RCWL-0516 Microwave Radar Sensor

The RCWL-0516S is a microwave sensing module that uses Doppler radar technology to specifically detect object movement.

The module has the characteristics of high sensitivity, long sensing distance, high reliability, large sensing angle and wide range of supply voltage. Widely used with a variety of human-induced lighting and burglar alarm and other occasions.

Features Of RCWL-0516 Microwave Radar Sensor

  • Using a dedicated signal processing control chip RCWL-9196
  • Working voltage : 4 ~ 28V
  • Compared with the traditional infrared sensor PIR, with penetration detection capability Blocking time, adjustable distance
  • It could output 3.3V power

Pin Function Of RCWL-0516 Microwave Radar Sensor

  • 3V3 : 3.3V output voltage, drive current 100mA
  • GND : ground
  • OUT : the control signal is output. When there is an object moving in the detection area, the OUT output is high. C-TM can set the repeat trigger time. If there is a trigger signal (with object moving) within the repeat trigger time, If there is no moving object in the detection area, output low level.
  • VIN : module power input, 4 ~ 28V
  • CDS : trigger control signal; less than 0.7V, OUT has been low; greater than 0.7V, the detection of normal work.
  • CDS pin external phototransistor, you can turn off the module detection function at night. Adjustment section description
  • C-TM : adjust the repeat trigger time, mask human trigger time 2S. Increase the capacitance will increase the repeat trigger time, the actual calculation of the repeat trigger time can be as follows:
  • C-TM Department affixed to the capacitor, test the frequency of 3 feet 9196 f, repeated trigger time T = (1 / f) * 32768 R-GN : detection distance adjustment, then resistance, detection distance smaller. Missed, the detection range of about 7M, then 1M resistance, detection range of 5 Meter. Customers can adjust according to the actual situation.
  • R-CDS : The internal VCC is connected in parallel to the CDS pin (9-pin 9196) via the R-CDS and the internal 1M resistor. The CDS is connected to the photoresistor to turn off the module detection function at night. The R-CDS value can be set according to the actual ambient brightness.
