FS-100A is a high strength carbon fiber based good quality wind speed sensor also know as Anemometer.
FS-100A uses the traditional three cup. The wind sensor has high quality light metal body which responds to the wind speed the sensor has good wind measuring range, high resolution and accuracy.
The sensing element of the FS-100A wind speed sensor is a three-cup wind assembly consisting of three carbon fiber cups and cup holders. A multi-tooth rotor is used along with a slit opto-coupler. When the wind cup rotates the multi-tooth rotor also starts rotating and accordingly the opto-coupler outputs pulse signal. The pulses generated is proportional to the wind speed.
Formula for wind speed calculation:
W = 0.1 + 0.0875 × f ( f 0)
where W: Wind Speed in Meters/Second (m/s)
f : Pulse signal frequency
This wind speed sensor along with wind direction sensor (FX-100) is perfect for making your own weather station.
The Sensor has a 3-core aviation plug at the bottom, and the output is three-wire
The sensor has good linearity and lightning resistance.It is stable and reliable and can be widely used in meteorology, oceans, environment, airports, ports, Laboratory, industry and in agriculture field.
